BETTY J. WILLIAMS, 89, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Born March 10, 1923, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Shirley and Beatrice Shaney-felt. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church where she served in the deaf ministry for over 50 years. She was a registered Interpreter for the Deaf, and was the first interpreter for WANE-TV. Surviving are daughters, Lynda M. Smith of Kennesaw, Ga. and Marilyn K. (Jim) Tolbert of Roanoke; son, Rev. Donald F. (Nancy) Williams of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Bryan (Skyra) Smith, Brandon (Dori) Smith, Brady (Diane) Smith, Hunter James (Rachelle) Tolbert, and Landon, Makinsey and Lyndsie Williams; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ethel Barnett of Warsaw and Mildred Sitcler of Fort Wayne. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1989; son, Danny; brothers, Wayne and Robert Shaneyfelt; and sister, Dorothy Paxson. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling two hours prior. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. I do not have very many people in the north part of Indiana receiving my emails so you are probably unaware of it. I would like to have people on the mailing list, so would you like to receive it on a trial basis? It lists people who are sick and need prayers, notifies when any deaf person dies, has list of all Christian activities and other activities with high interest to the deaf. It also has a Bible verse and a Bible trivia question. I put this out each morning. I have been doing this since April, 2010 and so many people tell me how much they like it. I hope to get more news from our northern deaf community as most of what I receive is about people here in central/Indianapolis area. If you decide to receive this, hopefully you will let others know so they can receive it too.....hope to hear from you...
