CONTACT PERSON FOR AUBURN CHATS:
COST: FREE! (although it is customary to buy beverages or snacks at the coffeehouse, to show support and thanks)
WHO: ANYONE AND EVERYONE!
This is a great way for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing
cultures to get together and socialize.
NOTE: It is perfectly acceptable to introduce yourself as hearing, hard-of-hearing or deaf.
There is nothing mean or insulting about that! Hearing folks — don’t be afraid of the deaf folks! Deaf have the same likes,
dislikes, hobbies, interests, etc. as you do — and deaf folks are fun to be around too!
Also — all forms of sign language will be seen at these coffee chats.
Please be respectful of those that use a different signing language
than you. There are actually some out there that know SEE and want to learn ASL. Have a wonderful time!
DEAF CHAT COFFEE -- KENDALLVILLE
KDC is temporarily on hold until further notice
Any questions?
Contact Amy Gordon at 866-385-8333 (VP)
Everyone is welcome - hearing, deaf - but EVERYONE must use sign language.
These events will not be cancelled -- not matter how many or how few show up.
Anyone who is deaf or deaf-related and can sign is welcome. MUST USE SIGN. Meet old and new friends every time!
Chat, mingle, eat & drink. NOTE: Please have the courtesy to purchase something to eat/drink. Purchasing
food is a way of saying "Thank You" to the local businesses for allowing us to use their place.
SEE YOU SOON!

HEARING IMPAIRED ADDICTIONS RECOVERY
GROUP
PARKVIEW BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER
STAFF DINING ROOM
1720 BEACON STREET
FORT WAYNE, INDIANA 46805
Welcome to the Hearing Impaired Addictions Recovery Group
every Monday night, from 6-7 p.m.
I am deaf and the leader and I will help you with your addiction/problem
if you're ready to change.
I will not promise you it will be easy because it will NOT.
This is something that you must do because you WANT to.
I am only offering you my assistance and any information that I
may have.
The first and most important thing that I have found is that you
must want to stop using and wasting time and money on these things. One step at a time, that is the way it is - one
step at a time.
If you have questions finding someone to talk to, let me know.
Sherry Bailey

MOPIX in Indiana!
Bones Theatre
655 Opportunity Way
Columbia City, IN 46725
Please join us in welcoming MoPix system
-- the first in the state of Indiana. The MoPix system provides full enjoyment of first-run movies for hearing and sight
impaired persons.
NOTE: There are only 15 reflectors available
for the deaf to use at this time. Bones is NOT allowing you to
reserve these reflectors at this time. The demand is not high and they are aware that people are driving from
out of town - their suggestion is to arrive early.
MoPix offers a Rear Window captioning
system - closed captioning, and it is different than Open Captioned movies. When you view a movie at MoPix, you view
it with a reflector - you attach it to your cup-holder by your seat, and you can watch the captions on the reflector.
There are no captions on the big screen and the other patrons don't see the captions. With open captioned movies,
EVERYONE in the theater sees the captions.
NOTE: Bones Theatre has 4 theatres
-- but only ONE theatre (Theatre 3) has MoPix -- watch this site to see what movie is being shown using rear-view captioning
system (reflectors). Theatre 3 usually has 4 showings a day for the same movie, so you have 4 times EACH day where you
can see a movie using a reflector.
Just remember that there are only 15 reflectors available
at a time for use, so only 15 Deaf and/or visually impaired people at one time will be able to view movies captioned. Be careful
when you spread the word to your deaf friends about a popular movie -- you might get too many showing up for the same time
and then not have a reflector for yourself! Remember that you cannot reserve reflectors
at this time.
MoPix does NOT work like Insight Cinemas! With Insight,
you have to wait until that theatre gets the movie from another theatre -- Insight works from a list of various movie theatres.
With MoPix, there is NO sharing of movies -- they get first run movies, and unless you have a reflector, you won't see
the captioning.
The Deaf and Sight-Impaired people now have two different
styles of viewing movies to choose from!
PRICES:
Movies before 6:00 p.m. -- $7.00
Movies at 6:00 or after -- $8.50
Date combo -- $25.00 -- includes 2 tickets for shows 6:00 p.m. or later,
2 medium drinks, and 1 medium popcorn
Ages 12 and under -- $5.50 all days, all shows
Everyday is Senior Day for ages 55 and older -- admission is $5.50 all days,
all shows
NOTE: Every Wednesday is "I Love Bones Theatre"
night. Say the phrase "I Love Bones Theatre" when purchasing your ticket and receive a FREE small
popcorn.
